Rams fall to Eagles 37-20 on Sunday Night Football

A holding penalty, followed by a sack allowed on third and long, forced Rams kicker Joshua Karty to attempt a 47-yard field goal. He missed it wide right, leaving the score 27-14 Eagles with 1:32 remaining in the third quarter.

Philadelphia carried an extensive scoring drive over from late in the third quarter well into the fourth, mounting a scoring drive of 6 minutes and 2 seconds capped by a 26-yard field goal to extend its lead to 30-14 with 10:30 left in the fourth quarter.

The Rams reached the Eagles 31 with six and a half minutes remaining, but an offensive pass interference penalty negated a 21-yard completion from Stafford to wide receiver Puka Nacua. On the next play, Stafford was sacked and fumbled on 3rd and 19; offensive lineman Beaux Limmer recovered the fumble, but it was still an 8-yard loss and Los Angeles had to punt regardless.

A 72-yard touchdown run by Barkley put the game away for good by putting the Eagles up 37-14 with 2:44 remaining; the Rams added a late touchdown on a 27-yard pass from Stafford to wide receiver Cooper Kupp to reduce their deficit to 17 with 1:07 remaining, the ensuing 2-point attempt was unsuccessful. Los Angeles’ onside kick attempt after the touchdown was unsuccessful.
