The Buccaneers defeated the Raiders 28-13 at Raymond James Stadium and improve to 7-6. Tampa Bay totaled 420 yards of offense and Baker Mayfield completed 18 of 29 pass attempts for 295 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Cade Otton led the team in receiving with 70 yards on three receptions, including a 44-yarder that set up Jalen McMillan’s second touchdown. The Bucs turned the ball over three times in the first half which kept Las Vegas in the game.
The Buccaneers capped off an opening 85-yard drive with a 15-yard touchdown pass from Baker Mayfield to Jalen McMillan. It became McMillan’s second touchdown of the 2024 slate and his first since Week One. A fourth-down conversion by Rachaad White and yards-after-catch by Bucky Irving brought the Bucs to the 15-yard line. Tampa Bay marched down the field on their second possession, which culminated in a five-yard Rachaad White touchdown. Cade Otton set in zone and Mayfield delivered a dart to the tight end, who picked up 20 yards. Back-to-back plays of 13 and 12 yards for White set up the score and 14-0 lead. With the score, White became the holder of the second-most receiving touchdowns by a running back in franchise history, trailing only Mike Alstott. To conclude the first quarter, the Bucs held a 154-14 net yard advantage and a first-down advantage of 11-1.
The Bucs did not score again until the fourth quarter. A 32-yard gain by Mike Evans, including a hurdle for additional yardage, and a 34-yard pickup by Sean Tucker set up White’s three-yard touchdown rush up the middle. With 8:47 to go in the fourth, the Bucs took a 21-10 lead following the six-play drive. Under two minutes in regulation, Mayfield hit McMillan for a 29-yard catch-and-run touchdown to seal the win. With the score, Mayfield tied his career high for touchdown passes (28) in a single season.
Lavonte David ended the Raiders first drive with a sack on Aidan O’Connell from third-and-10. Anthony Nelson dropped in coverage and David looped inside and went unblocked, forcing a Raiders’ punt. Early in the second quarter following a Baker Mayfield interception, David recovered an O’Connell fumble at the Tampa Bay 35-yard line, marking the 19th fumble recovery of his career. Late in the third quarter, Tykee Smith intercepted O’Connell at the seven-yard line, thrusting Mayfield and company back on the field. Kaevon Merriweather’s interception was overturned in the third quarter and ruled an incomplete pass, setting up third-and-10. Midway through the fourth quarter, Zyon McCollum’s interception was reversed upon review and ruled an incomplete pass to Jakobi Myers. Late in the fourth quarter, Christian Izien delivered a critical tackle for loss on Ameer Abdullah to force a Carlson 27-yard field goal.
