CALCUTTA — Kenzie Headley scored 10 of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter to lift East Liverpool over Beaver Local, 50-21, Monday.

East Liverpool improves to 2-2, while Beaver Local drops to 1-2.

The Potters led 17-5 in the first quarter and 32-9 by halftime.

Cate Davis added 11 points to the winning effort.

For the Beavers, Lora Reeder scored six points and Tori Druschel five.

Beaver Local won the junior varsity contest, 33-16, as Lilly Wright scored seven points. Meadow O’Rourke had seven points for the Potters.

Beaver Local plays at Harrison Central on Wednesday and East Liverpool hosts Indian Creek on Thursday.

COLUMBIANA — Columbiana wins with balance.

Megan Moser scored 20 points Monday — the Clippers are 4-0 with four different leading scorers — in a 58-31 win over Jackson-Milton.

Columbiana scored the first seven points and went on a 10-0 run for a 23-9 advantage in the second quarter. The lead went 40-20 in the third quarter.

The Clippers will host Leetonia on Thursday.

SALINEVILLE — Six Southern Local players combined for nine three-pointers as Southern rolled over Toronto, 48-33, Monday.

The Indians went on a 16-0 run to take an 18-1 lead in the first quarter. They led 22-3 early in the second quarter and 29-10 at halftime.

Allyssa Shroades had an all-around effort with 13 points, six assists, five rebounds and five steals. Makenna Jones totaled 12 points, 10 rebounds, two assists and two steals. Haylee Kellogg added eight points, eight rebounds, three assists and two steals. Hailey Maines had 10 rebounds, three steals and two assists and Maddie Jones grabbed eight rebounds.

There was no junior varsity game.

Southern improves to 2-2 and will play a varsity-only game Thursday at Valley Christian.

Sophia Henderson led the charge with 19 points. Abby Carpenter followed with 12.

The Wildcats led 14-7 in the first quarter and 28-13 at halftime.

Bella Poppelriter topped the Tigers with 18 points and 12 rebounds. Myleigh Jackson added six points and seven rebounds and MacKenzie Bosco six points and four rebounds.

There was no junior varsity game.

Edison will host Steubenville Catholic Central today, while Wellsville travels to Lisbon on Thursday.

BELOIT — West Branch left no doubts Monday.

The Warriors outscored Struthers 13-2 in the first quarter and rolled to a 51-19 win.

Nine West Branch players scored, led by Tallie Muniz with 10 points.

Sammi Beatty added nine points, Audrey Eaton eight, Hallie Vie Burton seven, Mati Hawk six and Ellie Tucker six.

West Branch, which improves to 3-0, will host Alliance at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday for a varsity-only contest.
