In a 38-6 win over the Falcons, Nix completed 28-of-33 passes for 307 yards, four touchdowns and a 145.0 passer rating.
Nix is the first rookie in NFL history to complete at least 80 percent of his passes while throwing for four touchdowns and 300 yards in a game. He is also just the third quarterback in franchise history to hit those marks.
His 145.0 passer rating is the second-highest single-game mark in franchise history, and he is the first Broncos quarterback to throw for four touchdowns and 300 yards in a game since 2016.
The Oregon product is now tied for the most touchdown passes by a rookie in franchise history.
“[In] our league, you’re learning each week and then pretty soon, you’re like, ‘I belong here,'” Head Coach Sean Payton said Sunday. “It’s clear he belongs here.”
Nix completed four passes of at least 23 yards, including an impressive 33-yard strike to fellow rookie Devaughn Vele.
Lions quarterback Jared Goff, Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, Saints tight end Taysom Hill and Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown are also eligible for the award.
Fans may vote multiple times and may select two players for which to vote.
