The home of the Houston Astros is getting a new name.

Minute Maid Park will be renamed Daikin Park as of January 1, 2025. It’s the third corporate name on the downtown Houston ballpark, which opened in 2000.

Daikin ParkA post on Twitter showed the new logo on the ballpark’s videoboard over the weekend. The Astros made the news official Monday morning. The team signed a 15-year naming rights deal with the Japanese company.

Daikin isn’t exactly a household name, but has a large presence in the region. Daikin is the largest manufacturer of air conditioners and has a large facility off 290 in Waller.

“We are excited to be partnering with Daikin for our ballpark’s naming rights,” said Astros owner Jim Crane in a statement. “Daikin is an international company that proudly calls the Greater Houston area its North American home.”

The team did not announce the terms of the naming rights deal with Daikin.

Minute Maid Park was originally known as Enron Field. The facility’s name was changed in the wake of the 2001 collapse of the company for cooking its books. It’s been sponsored by Minute Maid since 2002. The team didn’t immediately say why the deal with Minute Maid ended before the expiration of its contract.
